Acid Tears

Nothing says it like the bitter words you said,
Day after day, they float around in my head,
The pain that you caused,
Opens up all my past sores,
And it hurts enough, enough to wake the dead.

When my eyes weep,
You are what my tears seek,
They turn to ash when they hit the ground,
Hiding from the rest of the world, never to be found,
Life through my eyes is forever bleak.

When my feelings start to decay,
That?s when I still have so much left to say,
But you will never listen,
And it?s you I?m still missin?,
My acid tears run down my cheeks this day.

The footprints you left in my heart,
Crumpled me right from the start,
You shut out the light from my love,
Now it dies, just like all love,
All this darkness tears me apart.
