Teardrops On My Window

by Amy   Oct 20, 2004

Rain droplets on my window
Streaming down the glass
Like teardrops of a young girl
A face now of the past

I press my hand against
The cold hard window pane
Wishing I could break free
And run out in the rain

Trapped behind my invisible bars
In my cold and lonely cell
Every night is a nightmare
Every day a living hell

And so I just sit at my window
Staring into the dark, grey sky
Praying to God to give me wings
So away from here I'd fly

And every wasted tear drop
Every cut upon my skin
My hands stained with blood
Would fade away with the wind

I'm sick of being here
Trapped within these four walls
When the outside world beckons
It whispers & calls

I want to run
Feel the wind in my hair
Feel the rain on my skin
Freedom everywhere

But still here I sit
Drowning in my sorrow
Teardrops on my window
That will last until tomorrow
