My Mask

I act it out like a play
And wear a simple mask
To make people believe
I'm not bothered by my past

This mask I wear
Show's me being happy
It hides the fact
That I'm really crying

My mask has fooled
Just about everyone
It showed them I'm
No longer in love

It makes them believe
I'm really over you
Only people who see past
My mask know the truth

The mask just shows
A whole load of lies
To help me get over
Our painful goodbyes

There is a truth
Behind this mask
And the truth is
I can't get over the past

The whole truth is
Without this disguise
Everyone would see
My tears through the lies

And since this happened
No matter what I do
Nothing can help me
To get over you

So I'll wear my mask
Until we're completely through
But under this disguise
I'll forever miss you
