Whiteness

I've never seen such brittle
strength
a resolve to love
at any length
against yourself a battle waged
I've seen before this hunger caged

the Darkness rings around your head
or so you sense
or so you said
but all I see is inner light
made twice as pure
by righteous fight

i know you feel
as though you're shadow
yet what I see
I wish I could show

a soul as pure as any other
trying to be holy
when most don't bother
