Memories Within A Song

by HOLLY ARMER   Nov 12, 2004

A love song plays upon my heart
This tune, I've heard before
Reminding me of times that pass
Shaking me to my core

Within the first few beats
these memories enchant my mind
Our love was solid and true
the best I'd hope to find

Harmonic words flood my ears
as I drift away
Joyfully remembering
our hectic wedding day

Yet when the chorus hits
my tears begin to form
As I recall our love
like the calm before the storm

The song is now at it's peak
our love is slipping through
Two hearts completely broken
unsure of what to do

With the fading of the music
the moment is now gone
Yet, I'll always have these memories
captured within a song

I love this poem so much! It's wonderfully sad...it's like an old lady remembering her most beautiful days. (lol. of course i'm not saying that you're an old lady.)
