Savior

by Kaitlin Kristina   Dec 1, 2004

I reach for the drink, once again,
Take a hit,
You take my hand

“Stop it, don’t touch me, let me go!”
You grab my arm; I’m out of control.
I try to smack you, you take my wrist,
You turn me around, quickly, I twist.

You feel my heart race,
Hear me breathe,
Shallow and fast,
Your arms over long sleeves,

“OUCH!” I scream,
I’m soft to the touch,
I’m still pressed against you,
You’re holding me up.

“Look at yourself!” You let me free,
Yank up my sleeve, “STOP IT!” I plead.
Tears start running down my face,
You look at my cuts, and me you embrace.
I struggle, you just hold me close,
Put your mouth by my ear, to let me know:

“Let me take you, by the hand,
Take you out of this lonely land,
Trust me, I love you, Ill let you be,
Make you happy, this you will see.
Put the razors and drinks away,
If you keep on, you wont see another day.
Your out of control, I won’t watch you die,
You’re self-destructing, please don’t cry.
Come here, baby, I’ll hold you close,
I’ll support you and never let you go,
I know it’s hard,
I know you’re sad,
Forget it all, baby,
Don’t be mad.
Look at me, with those blood shot blue eyes,
Tears streaming, I hear your cries.
Don’t get loaded anymore,
Everyday you wake up, passed out on the floor.
Come on, baby, don’t live like this.
Your wasting away, give me a kiss.
See? That’s better; I’m here for you,
From now until forever, no matter what you do.”

I resist, I struggle, I kick and bite,
But your not letting me go home alone tonight.
You are there at my side, through thick and thin,
You wont let me fall, because that’s where I’ve been.

Thanks Selina. The same thing has happened to me at different times for different reasons and I knew alot of ppl could relate. Im glad someone stepped in, because alot of times people dont know what to do so they do nothing. When things look like they cant get much worse, do everything you can because rock bottom isnt that far away.
