Going Back

by Heather M Craig   Dec 2, 2004

Dedicated to mathew lee

i pulled off the mask for you
so i could show you who i was.
you said you loved me back so i didn't think anything of it
but when i stripped off the mask you fell out of love.

you gave back all of the pain i thought i lost
and drowned me in my own captivating tears.
i even went back to the tears of crimson
so now to love another is my fear.

to know you loved me back made me smile
and made my days worth living.
now you have took all the love back
and my heart and soul, you are killing.

i can't fall out of love with you
even if i tried with all i got.
for you to fall out of love with the real me
is not to blame, you are so right

Hmm. I love this poem. I really like how you incorporated the reality of the shedding of your mask before 'Matt.' Its almost sweet you wrote about him in this manner. Because it is true that he couldnt love the real you...but the realization that Jesus is head over heels in love with you...is just an awesome...warm fuzzy feeling:)

I like it. God Bless! 5/5

The real you deserves even more love than the facade. Be strong. This poem was great, it had alot of emotion to it.
