Bringer of illusion

by Poetically Speaking   Dec 3, 2004

You overlook what you misunderstand,
blinded by words indoctrinated in your mind.
Not giving perception a chance,
you unfairly justify.

Is that the true way?
Twisting your fears to condemn what you don’t know.
Pointing misguided fingers at faces of others.
Standing short beneath your fate,
pointing accusations you step to the plate.

Behind your doors there is a place no one will be able to reach,
destined to fall prey to innocent dreams
you preach.

Constructing walls of anger and pain,
blocking your mind,
you cannot restrain.
The temptation too strong,
you too weak,
you unfairly justify and calculate the meek.

Is that how it’s done? Leaning on to someone.
Afraid to fall into a pitted misery,
holding on tight you cast dark light.

Value the pain of other minds.
The time has passed,
grip them tight,
now is the chance.

Behind your doors there is a place no one will be able to reach,
destined to fall prey to innocent dreams
you preach.
