One Thousand Types of Sadness...

by Kaitlin Kristina   Dec 4, 2004

Ten thousand types of sadness sift through my sleep,
One thousand of them memories that I don’t want to keep.
One thousand of them moments that we used to share,
And one thousand of them times your hands would shift through my hair.
One thousand of them times that the sun would rise, and when I rose with it, you were there at my side,
One thousand sad times that you made me cry,
One thousand sad times that I would ask “why?”
One thousand of them moments that I loved at the time,
But one thousand of them reasons that they would soon have died.
With one thousand trysts, and one thousand dreams
Who would have thought our love would be torn at the seams?
So I have cried one thousand times,
With a tear for each sad moment, still left inside.
