Your Love Isn't True

You thought that I'd bounce back
After you threw me into a brick wall
Instead- I hit hard and crumbled
And laid there after the fall

You thought I'd find beauty again
After you ripped it all away
But all I found was an embracing darkness
And a world all black and gray

You thought my heart would repair
After you crushed it with your bare feet
Instead- it lay there broken
A heart -My heart- Forgot how to beat

You thought I'd find other dreams
After you stole them from my mind
But I followed countless paths
Searching for old dreams to find

You thought I'd find my way out of pain
After you left me there to rot
I assumed that you'd come back for me
But realized you just "forgot"

After everything you've put me through
I should take my chance, and go
But even after all these tears
My heart still loves you so

Even after all the demeaning words
And your twisted excuses for pain
I keep coming back to you
To hold you once again

And the worst part is unbearable
It's when you say you love me too
I must go through each day
Knowing there's no way it could be true.

^ I KNOW this is incredibly horrible, but I had to write a poem about this, and it was the best I came up with. I know, it's really bad. I'm so embarrassed, haha.
