Don't walk away from me

by Mild insomnia   Dec 29, 2004

Don’t walk away from me.

I sigh as you leave,
Close my eyes; you turn your back,
Wipe the tears on my sleeve,
Hit the wall with a crack.

And my knuckles are bleeding,
As I watch from above,
Your figure - receding ,
As I give up on love.

I started the argument,
And I let myself lose,
Winning to a certain extent,
But I let go of you.

You wouldn’t shout at me,
Or tell me I was wrong,
You wouldn’t disagree,
And simply nodded along.

Until I said somethings,
That I never should have said,
You just let me win,
The love we had is dead.

Please don’t walk away from me,
If ever you return,
Let’s not just live happily,
I need to live and learn.

So don’t just be a nice guy,
And tell me nothing’s wrong,
It’s not all sun and blue skies,
Or here I don’t belong.

I can’t live in a place,
Where you’ll all lie to me,
And each give up a faith,
Just to keep me happy.
