Help me out

by Mild insomnia   Dec 30, 2004

If I could take all of the pain away, you know I would,
I keep saying that I definitely would if I could,
Is it ever gonna be enough?
One girl, cannot, change the world,
No amount of poems can help the earth.

And what about the news today?
Shouldn’t you just take a look outside?
Why bother with poems anyway?
Why turn blind eyes?
And try to hide?

So sit upon your garden wall,
Take no sides and watch your country fall,
I’m not saying you’re responsible,
After all…
The Tv’s on, but the sound’s turned down,
Is anybody listening in this town?
Don’t turn your back on me now,
Help me out.

I know it sounds stupid but it’s oh so true, side by side,
Together we can all help pull through the strife,
Don’t let me tell you how to live your life,
One girl, cannot, change the world,
No amount of poems can help the earth.

When the time comes, and it’s your call,
Will you speak the truth and stand up tall?
I’m not saying you’re responsible,
After all…
Have some faith in the spirit, found,
In this whirlpool of lies, don’t let it drown,
Don’t turn your back on me now,
Help me out.

Didn’t you hear it yesterday?
70 000 lives, just washed away,
Nothing I can say will make that change,
But why turn blind eyes?
And try to hide?

So sit upon your garden wall,
Take no sides and watch your country fall,
I’m not saying you’re responsible,
After all…
Have some faith in the spirit, found,
In this whirlpool of lies, don’t let it drown,
Don’t turn your back on me now,
Help me out.

Hey, y'all I wondered if you would be up for helping me out with something, I want to get some of the most gifted, or appreciated writers together, each writing like, a line, or a stanza, and creating one huge poem, hopefully about a global issue or something, please pass on the message, and get back to me, the final draft of the poem will be emailed back to each poet, and submitted at their own work, guaranteed, I'm not nicking off with everyone's work, I assure you. Please email me (em_brb@hotmail.com) or get in touch with Jemma or Harald :)
