My Mountain

I look upon the shore, which looks back at me
I look above where I stand, and happiness just secretes
I kneel down, surrounded by the wind
I look around and ask “Where have I been?”

I was lost in a world, where there was no smile to be found
I lived in a world, in which love of people was scarce
It is just a relief to know that after all of this
I still have the mountain looking over me

I climb your steep knowledge, tumble over the rocks
I am my quest toward joy, which is the mountain top
Although the earth is covered in darkness
I know I will always have you to relieve my sadness

It’s tough to accept the challenges of life,
And sometimes you want to break away
It’s hard to reside in the hard times of life,
And sometimes you just want to be let out

I shout out, scream, and yell to all that hear me…

I have you, which is my mountain, the one in which I can count on
The one that even after all these years has not left and gone
So elevated above the coastal plains
Mountains that rise above all the years of pain

Hear me call upon you
You have always been here with me, always had that clue
That one day I would need you, so here I am

I hear the grass whistle its spring song
And I see the birds sway in accordance
And I also see you above all the mist of life
And shine high above the clouds, higher than ever seen

You are my mountain, in which I rest
That mountain, in which I find comfort

The one in which I feel merry
The very one in which I lay my head upon,
When life begins to get too hard
You are my mountain, the one in which I take pride
