Like I'm Not Here

by Manda   Jan 11, 2005

When I walk down the halls,
Everybody stares,
They spread rumors and whisper about me,
As if I wasn't there.

The few friends I have,
Stand at my side,
Without them yesterday,
I might have died.

Ignoring all the awkward glances,
And avoiding all the stares,
I walk in silence,
As everybody glares.

They judge me,
Laughing at my hair,
Pointing and laughing,
And dissing what I wear.

At one time I couldn't stand it,
And I thought that I might scream,
I was living in a nightmare,
This was no pleasant dream.

Some people think I'm crazy,
They say I've gone insane,
But they don't know that I'm suffering,
An undying pain.

All the rumors, and all the lies,
You'd think that I would care,
But I just walk on past them,
And pretend that they're not there.

Maybe a day will come,
When they'll accept me for who I am,
And maybe a day will come,
When they can actually understand.
