Tears

by Caitlyn   Jan 16, 2005

These tear drops fall every night,
Make their path down my cheek;
They are the best friend,
That I never have to seek.

They are always there,
Never in hiding or gone away;
Always find their way back to my eyes,
"Never will we leave your side," they say.

I wish tears had a limit,
So they would stay away forever;
Knowing you will never be back in my life,
Is all they need to pull the "fall" lever.

To say they will never fall again,
Would be such wishful thinking;
Because I know they seem to belong my wet eyes,
They fall with each eye's blinking

I guess I must let them come as they wish,
Because it hurts more when I try to fight;
I may be able to stop four or five,
But not the ones that fall all night.
