Synthetic Man

by Knight_of_Blackrose   Feb 2, 2005

Far from your youth
You've become a synthetic man
Your being kept alive by the ingenuity of modern alchemy

Chemicals flow solidly through your veins
Their purpose is to dull the pain, and keep you from going completely insane

I see this man before me, as if his blood has been replaced by motor oil..... though he is by no means a well oiled machine

This person I love, has become almost unreal
This person I love.... so trying to heal

This man, my father, staying with me through the haze
This man, my father, I fear will not stay synthetic much longer

Coming to terms with death
I no longer fear it, for myself or others
I hold no regrets that it will end....end in nothingness, an overdue rest

This man before me, a synthetic man, my father, will one day release all that is unnatural and return to where he came....the earth

since i know whats going on it makes emotions much more clear but it is a bit confusing, almost as if something lies deeper but as a reader we can't find it. Anyhow, great poem Aaron and whoever gave you a 2 seriously don't know what they are talking about...
