Plotted Course

by Knight_of_Blackrose   May 21, 2005

The train has gone by now, for the second time
I'm standing motionless, trapped in the wake of this endless dream

The train moves along its' pre- plotted course, steadily gaining speed
Much like everything passes me
Always looking straight ahead, never to the side or back, always leaving something un- noticed

It's destination is set in steel, always knowing where it is headed
I envy that train.... and feel sorrowful toward it

Nothing can stop the train from going where it is headed
Yet it is hard and stubborn to move

Not I, I am unlike the emotionless train
Constantly looking in every direction... searching for something that moves me
I can take the road less traveled.....while the trains course is predetermined

Unlike the train, I have vision for more than what is ahead
Looking in all directions for something that evokes my emotions
Always looking for the path that will lead me to another emotional train wreck

The train is gone now
The train of time

i love metaphorical poetry and this is surely a prime example of it. Sometimes, in life, a part of the ride is not knowing where you're going...and don't envy the train...it has it's destinations, but we as people, get to explore a myraid of places and things. Besides, you're young....and you have so much to offer the world and vast opportunities in the future!

    Love you!

ps. Sorry I haven't been around much anymore. I realize I've just left you out of everything & missed stories of you and Ali. I'd love to catch up sometime.... I miss you!

ps...keep up the amazing work! the poem was one of your best 5/5
