Fear (a sonnet)

by Jacob Perry   Feb 3, 2005

Loneliness is an outlet for its wrath
Death harbors it within its icy gaze
Walking with it is a horrisome path
It’s the thing inside that makes your eyes glaze
Terrorizer of the healthy mind
Breeding paranoia, the minds expense
It’s the wraith that makes safety hard to find
It kills, It saves, Its just far too immense
War, Religion, loss of you and of me
Loss of friends and of my family
Destruction and Its mayhem let me cease to be
Driving insanity though you can’t see
School can cause It, rejection can as well
Religion reeks of it, always to dwell
