Carry on

It’s been such a long journey,
For a forlorn soul who seeks only love
I’ve seen so many things
And yet it hasn’t changed anything

I’ve traveled through storms of howling winds
Strolled through roaring deserts
Pushed myself through the devastating heat
And then was shock by an icy blow

All I can do now is carry on,
Because now time ceases to have meaning
They say that love is the most powerful force

The pain that we don’t see hurts us the most
And the things that we do see, never seem to make a difference
You have done so many things to me
Because memories linger longer than a kiss

You loved me,
You hugged me,
You begged me,
Then you left me
All I can do now is carry on

You say I lack display of emotion,
But does that make what I feel wrong?
You say that I don’t love you enough,
But how deep is love?

I carry on, I carry on
You see me now, but I will be gone
I loved you because of your mistakes
But now I see it was a disgrace

A kiss is a kiss,
And a question too
And I question you this:
How far does trust extend?

I will carry on, with this in mind
And maybe I’ll see you another time
It would be my misfortune to see,
You love someone who wasn’t me…
