Teenage girls are so vain...

by nanz   Feb 7, 2005

Remember the beach
Under the moonlight
Bunch of drunk kids
Under the black sky

Remember I called you
Every second day
While you were in hospital
Wasting away

If you remember all this
Why do I still feel
That the pain of last year
For you, it’s still real

I see gorgeous cheekbones
I see sexy legs
You see something different
Something ugly instead

I know I’ve done some dumb shit
I’ve got the scars too
But I stopped the cutting
Long before you

Your beautiful body is scarred
Your arms and your knees
But your scars are scabs
They’re still bruised, they still bleed

I wish I could help you
I wish I could find
Some way to fix you
To heal your broken mind

I think you’re getting better
You may be getting worse
This twisted, evil sickness
For you, it’s like a curse.

Hey everyone, just telling you, this poem is about my good friend hwo struggled with anorexia for along time. xox nanz.

  • I think that the title gives out a really great image aswell as the poem, teenage girls are vain and will do anything to be 'perfect'. While they think they're making things better they're actually making things worse but by this point they can't see it themselves.
This poem gives out a really really good message.
    Well done
