Lost Game

by hayley williams   Feb 17, 2005

I loved him so very much
More than he ever knew
Forgave him so many times
Despite the pain I went through

Tears in the dark of night
Anger throughout the day
Needing to feel his love
Affection in any given way

I changed myself for him
Always tried my very best
Struggled to be so perfect
Never wanting to fail the test

Excepting him for anything
Whatever he choose to be
His imperfections did not count
As long as he wanted me

Nightmares woke me up
Tears stained my face
Scars marked my soul
Running a losing race

I was not good enough
He moved on with his life
While I am stuck here alone
Clutching a kitchen knife

Without him I am nothing
With him it was the same
I tried so hard to make it
But in the end I lost the game

Very powerful love. As I have learned in the game of life there is no pain such as the pain of a lost love .... Keep writing babe... you are naturually talented and stir the soul within everyone that is blessed enough to come across your words...
