My Reason

by Fighter (Ariane L.)   Feb 21, 2005

I sit here,
Remembering you,
Remembering what my life
Was like, before you left.

When I heard
That you were in the hospital,
A dark cloud formed in my mind,
Because I knew I would lose you.

Mommy kept saying
That you would be fine,
That you would survive
And that we would see each other again.

But, the day before you died,
I cried
Every tear in my body,
Because I knew your end was near.

They kept telling me you would be ok,
But they only told me the truth
After you had passed away;
That your condition was really bad.

I sit here,
One single tear
Running down my eye,
Thinking about you.

You are the reason I continue to fight,
Day after day,
Because I know that you love me
And that you wouldn't want me to give up.
