The Deadly Dinner Party

by ~*LorienElf*~   Feb 23, 2005

I'm tired of waiting
For that day to come
When my pain goes away
And my body goes numb

I'll bring it myself
Move that special event to tonight
When I'll end it all
I'm done with this never ending fight

Tonight it will happen
No more tears for me
I'll take them away forever
I'll finally be free

Tonight the shadows will come
To finally take me away
I'll answer the door
And ask them to stay

Tonight I'll set the table
Wait for those shadows to arrive
I'll prepare a great feast
While I'm still alive

I fill up the glasses
With blood so tempting red
They'll enjoy this night
Almost as much as me when I'm finally dead

My guests will arrive
I'll seat them in velvet covered chairs
And we will together wait into the night
Until my heart finally tears

As we sit at the table
The guest of honor enters through the door
In a glistening coat of silver
Dripping blood on the floor

My friend the knife has arrived
The time for my end is near
I start to have second thoughts
My mind fills with doubt and fear

Then I remember
My miserable life
I remember the pain
I remember the strife

All the shadows look up
As I walk toward my friend
I pick him up from the floor
I have come to the end

I inch it closer to my throat
And the shadows look on in glee
Their entertainment tonight
Is the bloody death of me

I am ready to leave
I say my goodbyes in my mind
Hopefully what I have imagined
In the end I'll find

Then the knife hugs me
Holds me in its deadly clutch
Then I sputter and it lets go
It's friendship to me that night was so much

The shadows cheer at the sight
And yell for more
But the night is over
As the last of my blood drains on the floor

They lightly glide over my bloody body
And without a glance pass into the night
Far away not to come back
Or stray into the light

Now I lay here
Only one stayed
The knife was with me
Though I have only begun to fade...
