My Rag Doll

by ~*LorienElf*~   Jun 8, 2005

I take her in my arms
Each night I go to sleep
She helps me with this pain
And holds me as I weep

Now I hug her closer
Tears fall in her red hair
She never tried to judge me
She's the only one to care

Her button eyes stare up
To touch my saddened heart
It cures me of this ailment
While my tears rip me apart

Hating the whole world
My sadness turns to rage
And as I stare at that ragged doll
War in my heart begins to wage

I grab that ragged neck
And squeeze with all my might
But she keeps on staring up
Filling me with her cold sight

Her button eyes come loose
And blood slips from the seams
And I realize she is dying
Waking me from my nightmarish dreams

I hug her close again
More tears slip down my face
I look at the blood that still pours down
And try to put her button eyes back in place

i can see how it could be a little confusing. what i was trying to do is put the aspects of real person in there to really show how sadness can turn to anger, but back to sadness again with the consequences. thanks all for reading and i'll start to comment back on yours!

    Really interesting.

I love your imagery. You wrote this very, very superbly.

Also, I have to say that your meter is well founded. There are a few ragged parts but otherwise, the lines fit.
