I Never Saw It ... Now It's Too Late

by ♥-Sharon Ardern-♥   Mar 4, 2005

You are lying there
And I don’t think you can hear me
Fading into unconsciousness
I say this, holding you near me:

Broken and empty
Both of us just one shadow
I am laying down my fears:
And I beg you not to go.

My soul, my heart
The very air I breathe
All depends upon you:
So you can not, and must not leave.

Every tear was a signal
Of how lost I have become
And if you go, if you disappear,
I will have no one.

These mere words can not
Possibly express my love for you
You can’t hear me, or look into my eyes
So I wonder if you know it is true

Your voice was always a blanket
Your presence kept me warm
But now your departure,
Will leave me cold and torn.

In my darkest hour
You would show me light
And now you’re fading away,
Every day will become the darkest night.

I depend on you but I did not see
Until today that you, too, were broken
And now you have slipped away …
Probably not having heard what I’ve just spoken.

So I pray to God to except you
Into His loving home
And now I ache to join you,
Because now I am completely alone.
