The Touch of Fire

by ~*LorienElf*~   Mar 8, 2005

The fire burns before me
Each tongue with many colors shown
The fames flicker and it yearns
For the taste of flesh and bone

My hand reaches slowly out
It cries out for the touch
My thoughts filled with doubt
As the fire, I clutch

A scream escapes my throat
But my heart urges me to stay
The fire, so devote
As it burns the sorrow away

Its warmth caresses my arm
As I long for more sweet pain
The fire catches on my garm
I know it will be my bane

For a few long seconds I cherish
The heat that licks my skin
If it were my choice I'd wish
That I remain enveloped in this deadly sin

Now the feelings changes
The pain is taking control
Between pleasure and suffering it ranges
As it burns my very soul

Now I'm but a pile of ash
Strewn across the scorched floor
The fire goes out with a final flash
And, though the feeling is better, I am no more
