Forever Gone

You see her walking through the halls with a smile on her face.
You think she’s perfect yet you don’t know someone stole her place.
We were so close then you met her and everything changed.
All your priorities seemed to rearrange.

It hurts so much because you were my best friend.
Who was I to know this would end?
You watched over me for you were my angel from above.
You had a heart filled with nothing but love.

It scares me to think of my future without you by my side.
For it was you in which I could confide.
Pictures fade, people change, but it’s the memories that last forever.
We used to say we would be “Angels Together.”

But, now you’ve changed and there’s nothing for me to do.
So I’m thanking you for your honesty in which I always knew.
I’ll miss you but this can’t go on.
For the friendship we had is now forever gone.
