Rose Wine

by Martin   Apr 2, 2005

She enters the bathroom, rushed and shaking,
Locks the door, to prevent her-self from escaping.
She pulls the Shiv out of her belt,
Under the pressure she begins to melt.

Shaking, quaking, thoughts through the mind,
She lifts the knife to leave them behind.
The blade of steel against her skin,
The only way to forget her sins.

She slivers it in, first quite shallow,
Deeper and deeper, her lifelines narrow.
Metal against flesh, only one can prevail,
The handle dug into by nervous nails.

The rose wine of life, leaks to the floor,
Flooding the tiles with her wrists inner core.
The pain is tolerant, she has no care,
No more of the hatred she used to share.

She’s now getting weak, vision impaired,
Knowing what she has done, she begins to get scared.
Drops the knife like a bomb, scrabbles for a hold,
Losing bodies direction, feeling stone cold.

There’s a bang on the door, a shout and a yell,
It is her lover worrying, to that she can tell.
He kicks and punches, to let it all out,
The wood starts to splinter under every clout.

She sits and stares as the lock begins to break,
Feeling so woozy, how much more could she take.
The hero bursts in and gasps in fright,
The body, the girl, a face of white.

It is near the end, heart is dying,
He can also feel it, he to is crying.
With her last baited breath, tear in the eye,
Says, "I love you, but it is time for me to die".

WHOA!! That really was a well written poem....I've read so many poems about cutting and suicide and I don't normally like them regardless of how well written they are but this one was different...it was kind of sweet...with the hero and all..lol....very nice piece!! 5/5.....I can't understand why this poem is rated a 3.8...you are new to the site so you may not know...people don't rate fairly....if your poem is on the top rated some twit will rate it a one to get it off and if you say the wrong thing to someone they will rate all of your poems ones...so many silly reasons....don't pay attention to the votes....the rating system sucks....Your poem is way better than a 3.8...way better than a 5 really...anyhoo I will stop rambling now.....:)
