Best Friend

by Heather M Craig   Apr 3, 2005

I counted the trials encountered
and the blessings outnumbered,
I watched the enemies line up
but was replaced with divine love.

There was no match to God's power
because I could always count on Him.
With every tear that drowned my face
and the pain inside, His heart just embraced.

Fading times of hardship my Lord would carry,
the only friend I could forever count on.
Every whispering secret, my soul called
He was the only one there through it all.

Still, I lose myself in those teardrops
and He'd be my map back to the designation,
No matter how the struggle looked so tough,
My Lord's precious love was enough.

The only one I can count on still today
for no one else can ever compare...
No one matches the loving entice
in the best friend of Lord, Jesus Christ.
