Window of Childhood Memories

by Fighter (Ariane L.)   Apr 3, 2005

Sitting by the window,
Watching little kids
Playing in the grass,
Not a care in the world.

Running in the field,
Innocent laughs reaching my ear.
Smiling faces are too much to bare,
For I no longer am an innocent child.

They're chasing after each other,
Not a care in the world.
A young girl excluded from the fun,
Watches as they play.

She stands on the side,
A sad look on her face.
I know exactly how she feels,
For I was once that child.

Abandoned and rejected,
She watches them play,
Hoping that one day,
They would ask her to join...
