Tribute to my lost love

by David Paul   Apr 4, 2005

Thoughts of you fill my mind,
Why did you try to be so kind,
You tried to love what no one else would,
Telling me every day that I could.

I didn't know what you could see in me,
Then I was blind but now I can see,
See what you tried to make me do,
Help myself so I can save you.

You did what you could but I was too late,
How I let you down myself I do hate,

I found your body outside of your door,
Your story was told by the blood on the floor,
Beside your bed was a note to me,
Saying your life was over but to be all I could be.

I cried for months and tried to kill myself,
But every time I tried my mind went to your letter on my shelf,
Your body may be gone but your spirits still here,
And until the day I die you will always be near.

Some emotional play with the words and some nice imagery. Not really intense on that but good nevertheless. Some flow problems...sometimes sounds forced but overall really great. Enjoyed this quite a bit. There was something there that really caught my attention.

I like this one, it's amazing how you feel after reading it. It's kind of a numbness... to sad to cry, to big to hide.
    anyways, well done ;)
