I wish I could know them

by Nat the dreamer   Apr 6, 2005

Eating lunch alone,
feels lonely at times.
Drowning in a sea of people,
None of their friends are mine.

Thinking to oneself,
while bottling things inside,
begins to feel hopeless,
When you have nothing left to hide.

They smile, they laugh,
They share good times.
Their eachother's best friends,
I just wish they were mine.

Their kind and sweet,
adventurous but keen.
The most beautiful people,
you've ever seen.

I will always be desolate,
They'll always be free.
But someday I will laugh with them,
When they notice me.

I feel like I can relate to this so well. I was walking through the halls today and I realized that I can hardly even name the people I passed, and it made me realized that their lives would be no different without me. This poem is so great and I feel like it really expresses your emotions as well as so many of my own.
