Looks Can Be Deceiving

by Lance Hardy   Apr 11, 2005

With every tick and tock
The seams loosen
And winged devils come
To tear it all apart
With glee

Even powerful rocks
Crumble away into dust
As every good and evil
Strikes and stains them
Eroding away

And a small fly
Will sit, trapped in a web
But if you listened closely, you would hear
The cries of the helpless
But you don’t

Everything passes by
Unnoticed
You may look left and right
You may look up and down
But you never look around

i think your poetry is maturing, and that if you were to compare your more recent poems to your earlier ones, you'd find that there has most certainly been a change, and I think it has been for the better

I'm beginning to test out free verse poetry, so feel free to critique and tell me if I should be doing something different.
