Beliefs in God?

by No Motiv?   Apr 15, 2005

I want my childish beliefs
To reign and control my soul
I want to have faith
In someone I've never known

I want to believe in Him
A man too worthy for my hand
I want to believe long ago,
He too, walked this Holy Land

I want to believe nothing ends
Not even with my last breath...
I want to believe in everything,
Even Life after Death

But I believe in nothing,
My faith, lost long ago
I grew with questions,
And rejected things I didn't know

I didn't know if there was a God
A man to guide me through...
I didn't know if I could believe
In a Spirit so very few knew

Could I believe in a Book?
Or some Gospels sung at church?
Could I believe in something
That allows me so much hurt?

But of course there was a light,
Shining in the back of my mind...
If believed any of this,
It would be mine alone to find...

I thought I could regain my trust
Because of someone else's speeches...
But faith isn't accepted within
When someone else just preeches.

I had to find Him myself
In my own heart and all around...
God is in within every flower,
mountain, sight, and sound

God is the birds in the sky,
My mother that loves me so...
Because I chose to look around,
I chose to finally know:

God is real, as am I,
And as you are, too...
Whether you choose to see or not,
That choice is up to you.

Excellent message once again skillfully rendered. You compassionately brought the spirituality out of the baseness which has come to consume so much religion with its modern social club mentality.

it really reminds me of my poem "Existance of Choice" , well, the ending does but you took it another level. Nice job.
