Twister

by Katie   Apr 18, 2005

The summer is almost here it’s a time for fun.
That’s what I always thought, but never what I won.
I always wanted time to spend with you my friend.
Just a few times, before the summer ends.

But you have other friends and new ones too.
It’s just you and those chosen few.
I feel so left out now and so alone.
I tried talking to you but my feelings apparently were not being shown.

I’ll forever carry the memories in my heart.
But this shattered girl, is just a true work of art.
I’m on display for all to see.
This is who I am, but not what I want to be.

I wish I could go back when it was us laughing and playing together.
Remember the days when we promised it would last forever?
But life interfered and we went our separate ways.
Now here I am, my broken fragile body showing off the remembrance of the days.

I hope you’re ok out in this cruel world.
I forever will remember you’re talent, the dancing you did, the exact movement of your twirl.
You were my best friend but it felt like you were my sister.
But now I’m wrapped up in a game of twister.

All the thoughts of us from the past,
They’re going around in circles, they’re moving so fast.
I’ll just flap my wings like you taught me to do.
I’ll be strong, because of you I know I will make it through.

I’ll soar to the heavens and wait for you.
This is a promise that will forever stay true.
Thank you my dear friend from the bottom of my heart.
Now this broken fragile girl has a new life in which its waiting to start.
