Listening to the Night

by Fig   May 6, 2005

The sharp blue of the nighttime smells icy
The rising, falling drone of waves of metal of cars
Rolling past my bedroom window
The moving morphing waves of thier light
Crash silently through my bedroom clutter
The flickering streetlights
Splash watery light onto the pavement
And I lie awake and alone
Listening to the night
And thinking of you

White-hot emotions stir in my head
The urge to kill
To love

They battle it out in the bloody fields of my mind
No rest tonight
No sleep tonight
Only
Lie
And
Listen
And
Think

I love the way the beginning is so brillantly complex and the ending is so sweetly simple. Awesome mix, girly <333
