Who Is This Girl?

This girl has never known
who she is inside
Now she will sit and moan
and wonder how she has died.

She has a split personality;
with certain people, she acts a certain way
she doesn't know in reality
which character she wants to play.

She has pretended for so long
she feels like it's for real.
In her mind is a confusing song,
each character has a natural feel.

With her best friend, and her alone,
she is wild, crazy, and fun.
She always has a happy tone,
and never regrets the strange things they've done.

These are things that she would never do
if she were with the one she'll always love.
Even though he can be crazy too,
she just can't get herself to rise above.

With him she's so happy,
she's too occupied to care.
By his side she always wants to be,
and she won't go anywhere.

But once he leaves for even a second,
she gets bored easily.
She'll be a little crazy, just for a moment,
but long enough for his friends to see.

When she was in school, in chemistry
she had an attitude.
A brat and smart alec was she,
and never in a good mood.

Alone, she would walk home from school.
Home is where her characters often would collide.
Some days she was rude and cruel,
on those days, alone in her room she'd abide.

But then the next day
she'd sing and dance,
listening to what others would say,
and helping out at every chance.

All these characters she can play, never realizing it was all an act,
sometimes all in only one day,
never seeing the true fact.

No one else seemed to know this,
including her lover,
until one day he noticed
and pointed it out to her.

He's not the one to blame,
nobody is
She's the one playing the game
and has become this.

She isn't sure
who she should be
she needs to find a cure
and this girl...is me.
