Too Far Gone

by Amy   Jun 18, 2005

Looking into the hour glass
Grains of sand fall
Time is running out
For me. For you. For them.
Flutter of wings
Sound through the crisp darkness
I shiver but I'm not cold
Teardrops like ice
Freeze on your dainty, porcelain skin
As you sit on the cold tiled floor
Covered in blood and broken mirror

Leaping off tall buildings
And flying through clouds
One moment of blissful freedom
Will you capture it, hold it in your palm
And make it last forever?
Such beauty surrounds us
But theres a lack of color isn't there?
Through the eyes of a child
We see such wonder
Such hope. Such faith
But through my eyes
Can you see the pain?
A world of black and white
Where nothing is as it seems
Or is it?

Every smiling face
Every carefree laugh
Holds a secret of pain
My blood is my poison
Can you drain me of every last drop?
Can you suck the venom from my soul
Corrupted. Used. Torn. Violated.
What do you do when you cant die,
And your not really alive,
Yet your forced to live

Being invisible is such fun
No one can see you
Touch you. Hear you.
Hurt you. Love you.
You bleed black blood
From your wrists
It leaks from your eyes
From your empty soul
Just a hollow shell
Slicing yourself open with blades
And sewing yourself shut again
Doesn't it feel great
To kiss that cool metal
Watching blood rise
Like rose petals so sweet

Moving in slow motion
Watching existence pass you by
And you laugh
Oh, how you pity them
Standing on your rooftop
Rain soaking you to the bone
Gazing at the constant stars
And their fleeting light
Is there anything left?
Is this is? Is this God's divine plan?
Well, excuse me while I laugh
I figured it out

Dying is living
Living is dying
We must die before we ever really live
In death, our true lives will begin
