Todays my birthday
I just can't wait
there's probably a million calls
On the answering machine since i woke up late

Todays my birthday
There aren't any calls
maybe they just forgot
Not that big of deal at all

Todays my birthday
I am thirteen
My friends and family
forgot about me

Todays my birthday
The year went fast
But i'm sitting home alone
Crying my eyes out at last

Todays my birthday
I'm a teen now
Does that mean i can make my own decisions
like harm my body and do things so foul

Todays my birthday
I can't wait
When my parents come home
They will see it's to late

Todays my birthday
Todays my last day
Today my whole life
Ended in a daze

    This could have been the very worst God forsaken thing I've ever written and I would never say QUIT writing. If you can write down what you feel in your heart and be happy with it then it is truly perfect. Write because you LOVE it not because WE tell you to.

    Excellent write! I love the way it flowed and the emotion the reader takes in while reading it. I wanted to hug her...(Hopefully it wasn't you) :) You portrayed the pain it caused very clearly.....nicely done!!

    the repetition was really strong in this one.
    it was a terrific piece
    and the sort of mystery in the final stanza makes it really moving
