Go Ahead, Ignore It...

by Sarah Ann   Jun 21, 2005

She stares at her arms, so pale
The razor kisses her white skin
Cutting away screams and cries
To release feelings from within

She watches the razor gleaming
Tempted, holding it to her wrist
The blood, dripping in a stream
Thought of her own deadly risk

Down her cheeks tears are rolling
As the blade slices her pale arm
She watches the blood flow free
No, she didn’t think it was harm

Her head hardly hits the ground
Her body takes the biggest fall
She never knew she’d be dead
And yet she still did see it all

There is never ending loneliness
Of another poor girl left behind
Blood is dripping on the carpet
That was once clean in her mind

Night after night she sat alone
Looking and praying to the stars
And no one can hear her pain
But everyone can see her scars

I do not cut, so this isn't about me. In general it is to anyone who knows someone is hurting, but does not even try to help them.

"Why couldn’t you hear her pain?
But everyone can see her scars"

I really liked these two lines, but I think (just my opinion) it might sound better if you said, "No one could hear (/see) her pain But everyone can see her scars."

Other than that, this poem was beautiful. Again, you have supreme talent for portraying the mood and atmosphere. Amazingly touching poem.
