My Heart Beating

by Ashley Dulin   Jun 26, 2005

"He has to be Cheating"
My friends are stating
at our daily table meeting
"No he isn't, I keep his heart beating"
I am Replying
That evening
I am Sitting
Studying Learning
Suddenly the phone is ringing
"Hello?" I am answering "He is Cheating"
the voice is cooing
"Everyday he is begging..
For Pleasing"
"No you are Lying" I begin Yelling
the phone begins disconnecting
Minutes later the doorbell is ringing
"Sweetheart, They are Lying I swear I'm not Cheating"
He begins Denying
"No I'm done it's over I'm Finishing"
"No Sweetheart, please you keep my heart Beating!"
the door is slamming
you hear the car door slamming
the Engine revving
then the Crashing
I begin running Screaming
crying
I gather him into my arms sobbing
"Sweetheart, you kept my heart beating"
he is softly whispering
"I know sweetie I'm sorry" I am Apologizing
He slowly begins dieing
in my arms slipping
home, Returning
I am Praying
"Hold on baby they are coming"
I am Whispering
Crying
Sobbing
Weeks Later I am still Mourning
walking
down the hallways when I hear the cooing
"He wasn't Cheating,
They were Paying,
You really did keep his heart beating."
"It's sad to say that 4 years of loving
Was Cut short by 2 seconds of lying"
"I'm sorry" she is apologizing
"As am I," I reply
"For Believing,
Scum like you, Lying"
I turn slowly Retrieving
I slip to the bathroom only then am I crying
gently I lock the door and begin sobbing
Softly I begin speaking
It's done it's over I'm finishing
for tonight I shall be, dieing
Returning
home, I am praying.
