Red Rose

by Poetically Speaking   Jul 7, 2005

Red rose, red rose
silently you sit in the corner
far from the gate
sheltered by the shadows you wait
red rose it isn't too late

Poor rose all alone
no one sees you as you grow
red rose under the moon
you shine beneath its glow
you grew too soon

Parading your pedals as you dance in night
Dewy tears seep from your sides as you quietly requite
red rose
naked in the wind you escape a moan
red rose, red rose
red rose you're not alone
