Secrets of The Lake

by Katrina Boblina   Jul 8, 2005

I went to the lake.
Black swans on the
Cold glassy water
A girl, myself, stands there
Watching the wind
Rustle the leaves
Of the old, blackening trees.
For once upon a time
On a night of my loneliness
Here I can always find
A secret in the water,
A reflection on the lake
A secret in my eyes.
Cold was my soul
Untold was the pain
A rose in the rain
When you left me.
This vampyric addiction to you
Makes me want you more and More.
I take a step toward you,
into the black vast lake.
Soon to be with you,
On the bottom of this grave.
