Lovers Riot

by Clark Jacobs   Jul 19, 2005

Across the mountains
And into the valley
Didn’t seem to know
It was the finale

Without it she succeeds
And uses it to her advantage
Without it he falls
And just cant manage

Across the mountains
And into the valley
She seems to call
A great rally

At night she plays
Her mind has forgotten
At night he cries
His memories gone rotten

Across the valley
And into the plains
Only loneliness
Is all that remains

She feels power
In what shes gained
He feels sorrow
In what shes drained

Across the valley
And into the plains
The riot pursuits
Anger in her veins

She has already won
But yet she still proceeds
He has surrendered
But she doesnt care that he concedes

Across the plains
And into the ocean
He has brought
Such strong emotion

She is going in for the kill
But she doesnt see he’s already gone
He is ending all the cravings
From her he has withdrawn

Across the plains
And into the ocean
She can see
So much devotion

She has killed him
His memories float away
He has been set free
Her meaning cast astray
