Whisper In the Wind

Tears fall hopelessly from my intense blue eyes
As I recall, the tender soul that love forever denies

Cast away into sadness, despair taking it's toll
Upon this battered man whom longed to be made whole

Turned away time and again
Seeking solace, unable to mend
Longing for sleep, though wide awake
Wishing for an end to constant heartache

Holding tight to despair, he let the rest go
Where is he now? Someday we'll know

But until then I'll think of him
As the faint, sweet whisper in the wind
Forever keeping watch over you and me
A tortured soul, finally free!
