Never Apart

by HOLLY ARMER   Aug 4, 2005

I see her there in a special place
Calm and serene, a smiling face

Her thoughts are pure, soft, and white
Simple beauty, a breathtaking sight

Her voice is pleasant like a breeze
A spirit adrift within the trees

Her laughter rings out, touching me
Wanting to hold her so she'll see

That loving her was so easy to do
Longing to watch her as she grew

Anticipating the day when she'd come
As I think back, it makes me numb

She left before I had the chance
To hold her close and sing and dance

No putting barrettes within her hair
Or having tea parties with teddy bear's

I never heard her laugh and play
There's just so much that's been taken away

And though my tears fall endlessly
I know she's always here with me

Safely hidden within my heart
A mother and daughter, never apart!

*I don't really like the title! If you have any suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks much!

Your pain and sadness is portrayed so well in this poem, Holly. My heart goes out to you.

I do like "Never apart" for th title... but another thought would be, "Safe in My Heart"
