The ink has stopped flowing

by Lu   Sep 12, 2005

Her hands are old and feeble
no longer can she hold a pen
she has not just begun her life
for it will soon come to an end

Her eyes are sore and tired
for she is nearly blind
no longer does she see the words she wrote
for darkness is not kind

She would write about her sadness
losing her husband in world war two
she would write about the happiness
of how their love was so true

A different life she could pretend
her time spent so alone
her pen and paper her only friend
it was her comfort , her consolation

But now the ink has stopped flowing
her paper torn and old
but forever embedded in her memories
for the stories that they told
