Betrayal, Anger, Silence

by Spoken Silence   Sep 18, 2005

The world stares you in the face
Taking everything from even nothing
Leaving you lonesome and empty

Betrayal
Anger
Silence

The emptiness consumes you
Your very heart and soul taken over by darkness

Betrayal
Anger
Silence

You trusted her
Gave her your heart, your life,
the very person that you are
Well as of now the very person you were
She took that person with her
And as she left creating the person you are now
Filled with the cold sting of betrayal

Betrayal
Anger
Silence

She promised you that you couldn't push her away
That anything you needed she'd help
But that became a lie as she became tiresome of your needs
Doing just as she said she wouldn't

Betrayal
Anger
Silence

Now you're left without her in a lonesome anger
An anger which only she can lift from you
A resentment not for her but for yourself
Knowing its your fault she is no longer at your side

Betrayal
Anger
Silence

So you decide to banish the emptiness,
To banish thought of betrayal and anger by blanketing them in silence
A punishment yet a liberation

Betrayal
Anger
Silence

You watch the blood drip from your wrists
And with every drop you know you're letting go
Letting go of her and letting go of yourself

Betrayal
Anger
Silence

The world around you fades
You've finally been released
All things dissipated by your end
The BETRAYAL and ANGER destroyed by the SILENCE

Greatly written poem, I love it from the beginning to the end. It is deep, touching and so emotional. The ending is excellent, too. The fifth stanza is my favorite.
    Keep up, 5/5.
