Behind Closed Eyes

by Anthony   Sep 19, 2005

Open eyes, they see all pain.

Something that I can't explain.

Some people do whatever it takes,

To hurt you (even using rakes).

They don't care how low they go,

To hurt you, and all they can say is, "So?"

They don't care, they cannot feel,

Anything even remotely real.

They'll talk, they'll push, and they'll laugh at pain,

Then leave you soaking in the rain.

But behind closed eyes, there's a slow suppression.

Just to ease your own depression.

There, you can see people who care

Some that you know are always there.

Behind closed eyes, for you they wait.

And we all take it like fish to bait.

Makes us happier than the latest drug,

Rolls pain off your shoulder as you shrug.

And all the while, they still laugh,

At the pain you feel with open eyes,

And close them just to find,

The one's that love you… Behind closed eyes.

I was basically thinking the same thing as Atomic...
The general idea is beautiful...I love the ending.

    Keep it up.

HAHAHA! You said "even using rakes"! But beside that pathetic line (probably ELOC)everything esle rock my knitted boxer shorts. My favourite lines are:

"And all the while, they still laugh,

At the pain you feel with open eyes,

And close them just to find,

The one's that love you, Behind closed eyes."

You but me to shame with your rhymes *snicker*
