Toys in the Attic

by RainbowSlider   Oct 2, 2005

While wondering through life
we can meet friends along the way.
Sometimes we try to put labels on them.
This friend for this
and this friend for that
until like toys in the attic
we have all these friends
with dust gathering on them.
I dusted off an old friend today
just to see what they would say.
But I guess there was too much dust
and I might have shake some more
dust off of just let them stay
in the attic for another day.
It was a good toy to play with
in its day,
and it had an effect on me.
But don't all people
have an effect,
whether positive or negative?
If a person makes you think
one way or another,
aren't you different some way?
Some friends we play with
and they get worn
from excessive play
but like toys in the attic
some just gather dust
until we play with them
on another day.
